Cistus Honey

Cistus honey has a very dark color with red-brown tones, a pronounced, intense and persistent flavour. Cistus honey is counted among the rare honeys of Italy, as the delicate rose from which it is obtained does not always survive the spring rains unscathed, in which cases it will not be possible to produce honey until the following season.
In this refined Sardinian honey, tasters detect a vaguely salty tone: it is therefore very appropriate on bread, with rusks but also with fresh cheeses.
